About Royal Montessori Academy

Welcome to Royal Montessori Academy, where learning begins. Nestled in the heart of Green Bay, Wisconsin, we provide Montessori education for children aged 18 months through kindergarten, integrating Montessori principles with Christian values.

Our educational approach integrates Montessori principles with Christian values. Inspired by Dr. Maria Montessori’s visionary insights, we create an environment where curiosity flourishes and learning is a joyful experience. In our bright hallways and meticulously prepared classrooms, passionate educators guide each child on a journey of discovery. Through hands-on learning experiences and individualized attention, we nurture the whole child, academically, artistically, physically, and emotionally.

Join our community, where every day brings new opportunities for growth, discovery, and endless possibilities. Here, we’re not just preparing children for school, we’re inspiring them for life.

Growing Minds, Bright Achievements

Royal Montessori Academy’s Montessori-based Toddler curriculum supports the full span of your child’s development. In our prepared environment, the daily mantra is “I can do it myself!” This philosophy guides each child as they explore their environment.

Our thoughtfully prepared environments foster independence through sensory-rich experiences that promote growth and development. Toddlers engage with carefully selected materials that invite touch, exploration, and learning, including textured surfaces, shape sorting, and practical life activities. As children manipulate, explore, and create purposeful, meaningful connections, they strengthen their speech, language, and motor skills.

The Toddler program lays a strong Montessori foundation through hands-on learning, helping children develop essential skills like concentration, coordination, responsibility, and respect. Every accomplishment builds their confidence, preparing children to become capable, independent learners.

Enriching Hands-On Learning at Royal Montessori Academy

In our preschool and kindergarten mixed-age classrooms. Young children are incredibly capable of absorbing knowledge from their environment, a phenomenon Dr. Montessori referred to as “the absorbent mind.” At RMA, we nurture this natural gift through Montessori materials that spark discovery across math, language, sensorial experiences, practical life, art, science, and geography.

Watch as your child’s innate curiosity transforms into deep understanding. Letter sounds become the building blocks for reading, and soon you’ll hear them proudly sharing stories from their day. Counting beads leads to mathematical breakthroughs, and sensory exploration opens doors to scientific discovery. Over the course of their journey, children thrive alongside the same teachers and friends, creating their own dynamic community of engaged learners.

In this nurturing environment, your child will develop strong academic foundations, social-emotional intelligence, and the independent spirit to embrace the world with confidence and compassion. Every day brings new opportunities for discovery, understanding, and growth.

Areas of Study

At the core of the Montessori method is a profound respect for children’s innate desire to learn, empowering students to discover the world through seven interconnected areas of study. Each component of the curriculum works harmoniously for the whole child. There are 7 essential building blocks:

!

Practical Life

Children develop the fine and gross motor skills, self-care habits, and environmental awareness that foster autonomy. Whether it’s learning to open, shut, carry, or button a coat, these real-world activities foster coordination and concentration.

!

Sensorial

Our materials are designed to isolate each sense, allowing children to explore, compare, and form new connections. It functions as a sensory playground for the mind, where abstract experiences transform into concrete ideas. Sensorial materials allow children to order, classify, and describe sensory impressions in relation to various attributes, such as length, width, temperature, mass, color, and pitch.

!

Language

The path to literacy begins with speech and emerges into writing and reading. Through carefully sequenced materials, from metal insets that develop fine motor control to movable alphabets that unlock phonics, children discover the joy of both written and spoken language. Our left-to-right classroom organization, along with rich vocabulary activities, creates a natural environment for mastering communication skills.

!

Math

Math uses manipulative materials to help the child internalize concepts of numbers, symbols, sequences, and operations, and memorize basic facts. Using hands-on tools like beads, charts, and number rods, children build a solid foundation in mathematical thinking. They begin concretely and gradually move toward the abstract, mastering symbols, quantities, and the decimal system that underpins higher-level math.

!

Culture & Geography

Our cultural and geographical area of study introduces them to the diversity of human experience. Through sensorial globes, puzzle maps, and explorations of traditions, this area inspires curiosity about the rich tapestry of the world.

!

Science

Our science area focuses on exploring both the living and non-living aspects of the world. Students engage in scientific exploration in and out of the classroom by making observations, asking questions, and uncovering new concepts about the natural environment.

!

Music & The Arts

Children express their creativity through various musical and artistic mediums. The focus is on the creative process rather than the final product, encouraging self-expression and fostering an appreciation for the arts.

!

Library & Literature

Our library is more than just books; it is a place of discovery where students and teachers connect with literature that inspires. We nurture literacy skills while fostering a lifelong love of reading and learning. Here, every child’s journey with literature is celebrated, supporting their growth as confident, capable readers and researchers.
